SANTO DOMINGO
Welcome to the most exciting cultural activity you could experience during your stay in the Dominican Republic. An activity that will take you away from the comfort of our hotels for a few hours, but will fill you with cultural richness while you get to know part of the history of this country.
You can not miss this visit to Santo Domingo, the first founded city of America. A visit almost mandatory! Get to know the capital city that even today keeps much of its history and its magic as we walk you through the streets.
The dominican capital, Santo Domingo, was originally called Nueva Isabela, in honor of queen Isabel of Spain and was the first location of a spanish colony in the so-called new world. It was also declared a world heritage site by UNESCO back in 1990.
During the visit, you’ll visit the museums of the city, a mix of its historical and cultural centre with the charm and magic of its streets, as well as some buildings of the colonial era, the American primate cathedral, the Alcázar de Colón, among others. You’ll also visit the natural national park named los Tres Ojos (blue water caves). A protected area since 1972 with unparalleled natural beauty, located in the middle of the city. The ecological jewel of Santo Domingo.
